We met Mom and Vince and Grandma at Burger King tonight. AJ calls her “MeMaw” and loves her. (I suspect the feeling is mutual.) He was tickling her hair and chest, which she didn’t care for, but she still was laughing. We were talking about going to the pool yesterday and AJ was bending over in the booth and blowing spit bubbles. I finally heard him say “water” and realized that he was pretending he was blowing bubbles in the pool. It was adorable!
Can’t wait to get him back to the pool again.

I’m finally back to knitting and have nearly completed the back of the star sweater. I love the yarn I’m using (a 3/2 weight cotton) and its feel—it’s very soft. I suspect the sweater will fit AJ for several years as he’s still only 24 pounds. The colors are gorgeous—the blue is darker/richer than I expected, but it’s going to look great. I’ll take pictures soon.

The most recent installment of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J. K. Rowling was really quite good. I was shocked and very disappointed to find out that Snape is still working for Lord Voldemort. I’m hoping that it’s a misconception (on the part of the characters in the book) and that it will be cleared up in the conclusion of the book series.
My suspicions/predictions for book 7: Since Harry, Hermione and Ron have all agreed to work together to find the Horacrux, I suspect that there will be a book 8 for them to complete year 7 at Hogwarts. I hope that it will become clear that Snape acted on Dumbledore’s wishes in killing him and that he’s not really still working with Voldemort. I love and hate him, but I’d rather love him than hate him. I’d also like to see Harry become Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts and eventually headmaster. I think he’s got it in him!

Well, the Summer Reading Program started yesterday. We’ve got all but one of the kids tested (she’ll be tested tomorrow) and placed in groups. They seemed surprised that • Read • Write • Think • Repeat • was my site—but in a good way. I think some of them are very excited about using the book blog.
Last night, I ordered two books from Amazon, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and a book on Educational Blogging. I’m looking forward to them both. The blogging book should be here Friday and HP should arrive on Saturday. (Gotta love release-day delivery!)
AJ is so sweet lately, he’s been so generous with hugs and kisses except for at bedtime. We were asking him if he wanted a brother or sister at dinner tonight and he said sister more than brother (more often). From his mouth to God’s ears!
Thursday is a field trip to Montour Preserve, this weekend is camping at Sportsmen’s, and Sunday is Nikole’s birthday party. Should be a busy but fun time.

Well, it’s Sunday night and I don’t know what happened to the weekend! Friday night John and I watched several episodes of Numb3rs that we’d TiVoed and we’re really liking it. Then Matt and John had cigars out back.
Saturday, we got up early, I went to the hospital for bloodwork, and then we put AJ down for a nap so we could take him to the pool party at Dan’s in the afternoon. We had a great time there and AJ loved the pool, the boat, the sandbox…his hair was filled with sand because he kept throwing it up over his head, what a mess!
When we left Dan’s, we went to Wegman’s to pick up bagels and ground beef and a few other things. We came home and put AJ down to sleep and then watched Big Fish. I really enjoyed it, but cried too. It was a good movie, but had a sad ending.
Today, we met Matt and Susan for lunch—we were supposed to go to Ichiban, but they didn’t open until 3pm, so instead we went to the Chinese buffet with the Mongolian grill. then we ran to TJ Maxx, and brought AJ home for a nap. We took Grandma out for dinner for her birthday at Bechtel’s tonight, but for some strange reason, none of us was hungry for dessert—for all of us, that’s a miracle!
I’m mentally preparing myself for the start of SRP tomorrow and a trip to Danville to see the doc on Tuesday afternoon. I’ll be interested to hear what he’s got to say.
