Trip to the ‘brary

Published by Kim under News, What I'm Reading

I stopped by the library today to get some books for the next two weeks. I picked up a bunch of YA lit I’ve been wanting to read, including ZigZag (Wittlinger), Godless (Hautman), The Gospel According to Larry (Tashjian) and Basketball or Something Like It (can’t remember the author on that one) plus some books on tape for the trip to South Carolina. I had to pick ones I thought John and I would both like. I ended up with The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, one of the Vampire books by Ann Rice, and a Best of NPR Biographies. Now that I’m thinking about it, I suspect John’s already listened to the Interview with a Vampire...hopefully he’ll be okay with the other two.

I also stopped by for my bloodwork. I should be able to get the results tomorrow afternoon. Can’t wait to hear how that works out.

Wrapping It Up

Published by Kim under Work

The Summer Reading Program ends on Thursday. After lots of delays, the kids are finally using the book blog. It’s going well—they are fooling around some, but also being thoughtful in their discussion of the books they’re reading. Chad and I are both pleased with the comments we’ve seen and Chad and I have definite plans to go with it for fall. I’m looking forward to the collaborative things we can do with it. Can’t wait to see how it all develops as the year progresses.
