Doing the Job (and doing it right)
We were sent information on a trial of the Facts on File databases and asked to share it with faculty and to check it out ourselves. Apparently, Curtin teachers were the only ones who got the message, so the only feedback given was from Curtin…therefore, if we want access to it, we’ll have to pay for it ourselves. I’m fine with that in theory, but really wish that the district would see the value in the resources there and purchase it. To purchase an annual subscription to just the science portion, it will be $675.
I did talk to Mike and although he thinks it’s good, I don’t think he’s convinced that the expense will be justified. I said if they promised that it would be used for more than science fair, I’ll pony up, at least for a year to see how much it’s used. If we do that, I’ll be sure to promote it to Bernadette and hope that she’ll see value and consider adding it to her budget in the future
