I’m still waiting patiently for my
Ravelry invitation. I’m about half-way there.
- You signed up on June 30, 2007
- You are #11770 on the list.
- 5787 people are ahead of you in line.
- 5768 people are behind you in line.
- 33% of the list has been invited so far
I guess I should have signed up sooner, but I didn’t know about it until the end of June. Drat!
Ravelry is a site for people to catalog their knitting (and crochet) projects, yarn stash, needles, patterns etc. and to share what they’ve done with others. It is the ultimate social networking site for knitters. What an amazing idea! I
cannot wait to start using it. Please oh please let my invite come soon! I hear they’re adding 150 people a day so that means another 116 days or so until I will get an invite. They’ll probably be out of
BETA by then!

Not soon or anything, because they’re going to wait until they’re grown up to kiss and get married. Yep, that’s what AJ told me today about his new crush Claire. So, naturally, I had to probe deeper.
Me: You know, you can’t get married soon because you can’t live with Mommy and Daddy when you’re married.
AJ: I know, but when I am married, I won’t need you anymore.
Me: You won’t need us? But, you’ll still love us, right?
AJ: Yes, I’ll still love you.
Thank heavens he’s only 4 and marriage is a long way away. I don’t know what I’ll do when he doesn’t need me anymore!

1. I met my husband in an internet chat room. We talked on the phone a lot before meeting face to face, but it was still less than 6 weeks until we met in person. I made him go to dinner with my aunt and uncle and brother and SIL the weekend he came to meet me. (I also told him our wedding date before we met in person…and that’s when we got married.)
2. I am incredibly lucky to have two well-behaved non-demanding children. Many people have given me a hard time because of how easy AJ was and I think they don’t know how much I appreciate that my kids are not difficult.
3. My oldest friend and I are still in touch. We met in first grade. Even if we go a long time without talking, when we do connect again, it’s as if no time has passed. I’m really glad we’re still friends.
4. I swam competitively from 3rd grade to 10th grade when I had to have surgery on my shoulders. I took off the rest of my sophomore year and my junior year, but did swim again my senior year. I still have problems with my shoulders and the surgery didn’t do me much good.
5. I love it when AJ will walk hand in hand with me without a fuss.
6. There is nothing sweeter than a baby who falls asleep at the breast with a milk smile.
7. I love dark chocolate Toblerone. My brother brought me some back from Germany on his last trip.
