I stumbled upon this last week and decided I’d try it out. I think I’m a day late (probably a dollar short too!) but here it is.
I say and you think…

Today we slept until about 9:30 and then got up and had some breakfast and watched cartoons. I was controlling the remote and kept him from watching some of the shows I don’t really like him watching (like Pokemon). We ended up watching a bunch of Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain episodes from the DVDs we bought last year.
Zoe clearly has Daddy wrapped around her little finger and I suspect she’ll be a daddy’s girl. She was in the exersaucer bouncing away and looking at John and me and squinting her eyes and laughing. It was so stinking cute and John loved it!
I read Mary Jane by Judith O’Brien today. It was pretty good and stuck to the SpiderMan story we all know. It’s told from Mary Jane’s viewpoint and was a quick read with some teen angst, frustration about moving to a new school, anorexia and weight worries thrown in for good measure. I think my students will enjoy it. It was one of my freebies from the book fair last month. I don’t think any sold at the book fair, which surprised me, but I suspect I won’t have problems selling it from my shelves.

Poor Zoe! Last night at mom’s I was feeding Zoe and trying to horse her from one arm to the other. As I moved her, she threw head backwards and went right over my arm onto the floor. She’s got a little brush burn on the side of her face but other than that seems unharmed. It took forever to calm her down though! She cried for several minutes. When AJ saw her crying and knew she’d fallen, he started crying. We got him calmed down, Mom took Zoe (as it turned out, she wanted to be held upright not on her back like a baby), and then after I knew AJ was calm and Zoe was all right, I cried. I can’t believe I dropped her! I was so horrified and angry with myself. She seems fine today and doesn’t seem to be holding a grudge.
We had a nice time at the reunion last night. I got to see people I haven’t seen in four or five years (since the last reunion). It was good to catch up with people. It’s amazing the range of ages of our children though! One of my classmate’s daughter was there videotaping everyone for a DVD. She was adorable and very assertive—I don’t think I would have had her composure and (frankly) pushiness to be able to walk up to adults and get them to talk to a camera. She asked each person three questions and varied them among the people. So here I am with a 7 month old and this young woman was probably at least 17! At least two of my friends are still trying for a second child, but I’m sure her mother’s probably finished. I can’t imagine being the parent of a teenager at this point in my life! I’ve got a few years to go, thank heavens.
Today, we picked the kids up from Vince and spent the day with them. I made chicken enchilada “lasagna” for dinner and now John’s watching the Carolina/Clemson game (and cursing a lot.) Hopefully the Gamecocks will pull out a win tonight.

Our server has been up and down, so I’m posting quick now before we go—I don’t know if I’ll have access later.
Tonight is my 20th high school class reunion. I’m looking forward to catching up with a few of my old friends. Caryn and her husband and Robynn and her husband are both supposed to be there tonight. It’ll be fun to catch up again. (More later!)

We had a great day today. We slept in until about 9am, got showered, kids fed, and were on our way to my mom’s by 10:30. I had to stop and pick up rolls for dinner (my contribution, along with mashing the potatoes.)
Vince presented Rob and I with Medical PoA papers for him and Mom and talked a little about what they wanted and expected from us. (Nice way to start a day of thanks, right?) But really, I am thankful that we don’t have to wonder or worry about what they want or what the right decision is.
We sat down to dinner and before Vince could get a chance to say grace, AJ jumped in with it, complete with “Bon appetit, you may eat!” after he finished. That is apparently what Miss Mindy says at school before the kids get to eat. AJ’s taken to adding it to the end of grace at home and I think it’s adorable.
Dad came back home with us for another night and we spent the better part of the evening playing with Qu!cken and trying to get things working. Fortunately we figured out what the biggest problem was—I hadn’t put in a starting balance when I downloaded our transactions from the bank, so we were operating in the negative to the extreme according to its accounting. The correction solved a lot of problems. I added our vehicles as assets and the house and van loans as liabilities. I still need to get our investment accounts entered but I’m making some progress.
