Isn’t she lovely?

Published by Kim under News, Fun Stuff, AJ, Zoe, Kids Are Funny!

Zoe's seatZoe’s new car seat arrived a day or so ago. I finally had an opportunity to figure out where the straps needed to be placed (no adjustment needed so far) and can put AJ’s old seat back together for rear-facing for the car. Of course, I needed to get her a girly-girl seat, so here’s her in the new car seat. She was not thrilled, but I think that was more because she got taken away from playing to try it on for size. This pattern is Jessica and has a slightly sueded or velour finish. We like it! AJ said, “I still like it even though it’s pink! It feels like mine.” (he’s got Cougar in the Parkway booster.)

Who sent the sickies here?

Published by Kim under News, Confessions, Sick babies, AJ, Zoe

Well, Zoe woke up this morning with her eyes crusted shut, AJ’s got a cough and cold, I’ve got a sinus infection. I’m on an antibiotic. They gave me a script for ointment for Z’s eyes, but none of the pharmacies have it. One guy told me it was on back order a lot lately, finally CVS found out that’s because they stopped manufacturing it. So, tomorrow morning I have to call the doctor’s office and find out what they’ll call in to replace it. It’s not pink eye—but in another day or two it would be.

She’s also got a yeast infection in the diaper region. I’ve been using miconazole cream on her all weekend. They say she’ll need it for another 5 days to be sure it’s really gone. Between her two infections, I’m ooked out about touching her and do the super scrub on my hands after every change. I just hope we avoid a systemic antibiotic for her—that would only make the yeast infection worse—which is why they didn’t prescribe that now. Hopefully her cold will stay just a cold so we don’t need more antibiotic than drops or ointment for her eyes!

Off to bed

Published by Kim under News, Sick babies, Zoe

I am still so stuffed up and my sinuses are clogged like they haven’t been in a long time! I broke down and bought the “behind the counter” night time sniffling sneezing coughing aching stuffy head fever so you can rest generic with pseudophedrine in it—had to pull out the driver’s license so I could get it out the door! Since I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow, I at least won’t have to suffer too much longer. I’ll just add sinus infection to my list of complaints.

Zoe’s rash is a bit better but still looks a little sore. If she’s not better by tomorrow, I guess I’ll see if I can get her in to see the doctor as well. She’s got a stuffy nose on top of that and some sort of goop in her eyes. Since they aren’t red/bloodshot, I don’t think it’s pink eye, but who knows!

AJ’s also got “the cough” and has been staying on top of making sure he gets honey to keep it under control. Amazingly, it’s done really well at keeping him from staying up at night with a nasty cough. John had something last week, but he seems to be the only one who’s really healthy at this point.

I have two friends who had family members have seizures this week. D’s husband had one Monday evening and she spent the week at doctor’s appointments. It sounds like he’s got epilepsy. B’s little baby boy (not even a year yet!) had a febrile seizure on Saturday night, needed mouth to mouth and has been admitted to the hospital. I hope that both of them find out that things are controllable but I can’t imagine the stress and worry they’re both under. I hope J and JSL are all right. Hugs and prayers going out to both families this week.
