In hopes of improving the “image” of the library…
last night I registered the domains wahslibrary.info and wahslibrary.com (which will redirect to .info). I want to create a positive web-presence and currently that’s just not possible with our school district provided hosting through SchoolWires. I’m hopeful that I can get more student feedback and input by creating a site that is engaging and informative. The grant is going to be a huge infusion of funds for the library, but I’m really afraid that we’ll end up without student buy-in and that will keep us from being successful in improving student literacy and information skills.
I’ll be spending the summer preparing and creating the site so it’s up and ready to run at the start of school. Following through on the plans for the grant is going to be a huge responsibility! I’m up for it, but I don’t have any idea how I’ll sleep next year!
